Each Needle & Bee throw is laundered and dried at least once prior to shipping. This initial laundering gives the quilt its unique drape and texture. All Needle & Bee quilts are machine washable on warm or cool and can be tumble dried at medium heat. Subtle fading of the fabrics can be expected over time, just like your favorite pair of jeans, this adds to the charm and patina of the quilt.

Needle & Bee quilted throws are uniquely made from 100% linen. Linen is a fiber that has been around for thousands of years. Its unique qualities as a fiber elevate the performance and feel of Needle & Bee quilts. Linen has moisture wicking properties that cause it to naturally regulate temperature, it is antimicrobial, hypo allergenic, more durable than cotton, environmentally friendly, and becomes softer and more supple with use and laundering. Our batting, the inner layer of a quilt, is a special 100% certified Belgian linen that we import in both light and heavy weights. This linen batting adds to the generous weight, soft drape and unique textures of our quilted throws.

Serial Numbers

Needle & Bee quilts are unique works of usable art that are made with great care and skill. During the creation process the details about each quilt are kept in a journal. Upon completion, the quilt is assigned its own unique serial number that is discreetly stamped under the label of the quilt and is sewn into the bottom corner. When one of our heirloom quilts finds its forever home, the name and location of the new owner are added to the quilt’s journal entry here at the Needle & Bee.
